Big data has become a powerful influence on information management across a broad range of industries. In my Collaboration for Grown Ups post last November, I explored the challenges of big data for effective collaboration on large projects. In this week’s post – “Big Data Intelligence: New Opportunities for Collaboration” – I flip the argument to discuss how big data can enhance collaboration processes.
Specifically, I focus on the attributes that a collaboration service must have to support the ‘mosaic of intelligence’ that grows within each project and extends to other projects. If all team members across organizations are able to leverage this intelligence in their collaboration, they can accelerate project schedules and improve project quality. With the right collaboration service, organizations can also benchmark their information management performance to ensure better utilization of big data on future projects.
